Mrs. Marge Jardon, a retired first grade teacher, taught us so much today about Sacagawea, Lewis and Clark, and our early settlers. Mrs. Jardon even gave each of us our own medicine bags with items representing things we learned about. There is a red feather that means courage and represents Sacagawea's father, a shiny rock that represents her mother, a necklace representing the blue sky, and a bag of goldfish representing the town she lived in with all the fish. The kids were all so excited you would have thought Christmas came early! Please ask your child to share something they learned today!

Ava was SO excited to show me her medicine bag and all of its treasures when she got home! I was a bit skeptical when she said the goldfish were a part of it. Shame on me! ;)
