Mrs. Marge Jardon, a retired first grade teacher, taught us so much today about Sacagawea, Lewis and Clark, and our early settlers. Mrs. Jardon even gave each of us our own medicine bags with items representing things we learned about. There is a red feather that means courage and represents Sacagawea's father, a shiny rock that represents her mother, a necklace representing the blue sky, and a bag of goldfish representing the town she lived in with all the fish. The kids were all so excited you would have thought Christmas came early! Please ask your child to share something they learned today!

Check Out Our Boats
We planned and designed our own boat made of foil. We had to predict how many cubes we could get to float and then record our data. Some managed to make a lot more float than their original prediction. What a fun day in Science!
Word Family Turkeys
What a great way to show off the word families we know! We got to choose a word family, write it in the center of our turkey, and think of all the words we know with that word family for the feathers.

Celebrating Awesome Writers
I want to say thank you to those who were able to make it to our Writing Celebration today. The kids absolutely loved it and have been on top of the world all day! I am so pleased with the growth I have seen them make as writers. Having so many people to listen to their stories made them feel like real authors with an audience! Thanks again for your time! We appreciate it!
