Meet Miss Jackson

We are so lucky to have, Miss Jackson, a Mizzou student teacher, helping us for the next 2 weeks. She has jumped right in with helping us and has been a great addition to our classroom. Too bad she goes on to 2nd grade shortly!

Indoor Recess Fun

It was our first day of indoor recess because of the high heat index. Here are a few pictures of some of the indoor recess activities. 

Bears In A Cave

We learned a fun new math game today. It is called Bears In A Cave. Each student finds a partner and gets 10 counting bears. One child closes their eyes while the other one takes some bears and hides them in the cave (plastic container). When the child opens their eyes they have to figure out how many bears are in the cave. This is a great way to visualize different ways to make 10.

Counselor Visit

Our counselor, Mrs. Maddock, came to our room for our first lesson today. We practiced using I-Care Language and talked about what timely tools we could use to help solve conflicts. Ask your child to teach you a way we know to solve a conflict.

Find A Friend Who...

A Great First Day!

We had an awesome day! We spent the morning traveling to locations around the school and listening to expectations at each of these places. It was fun going from place to place and listening to different teachers around the school  talk with us. We read some back to school books, played a "Find A Friend Who..." game and started our poetry journal. I'm almost positive everyone will sleep well!
