American Symbols
We have been discussing different American symbols in Social Studies. Each student chose 4 American symbols to draw and label. They did a fantastic job!

Great Word Work
We used Habit 2-Begin With the End in Mind this week. We all agreed our spelling words were difficult. We discussed what grade we wanted to earn on the Friday test and what we could do in order to get that grade. They decided if they worked extra hard all week when they were at the word work center that it would help them learn the words and achieve their goal of earning a good grade on the test. Here are some awesome examples of hard work:

We Are Using the Habits
Luke used
Habit 3 -Put First Things First when he did his yellow math sheet when he got
home from school before he went outside to play football with his dad.
Katherine
used Habit 3-Put First Things First when she practiced her spelling words every
day this week before she played in her basement. Then she got 100% on her
spelling test.
Morgan used
Habit 3-Put First Things First when he did his spelling words and read his
reading book before he played outside with his friends, Skye and Justice.
Ella used
Habit 1-Be Proactive when her sister called her mean names this week and she
ignored her and walked away.
Samantha
used Habit 1-Be Proactive when someone cut in front of her in line this week
and she just went to the end of the line.
Bryce used
Habit 1-Be Proactive when he was asked to join a club that chased girls and he
said no even though they were his friends.
Charli used
Habit 3-Put First Things First when she came home and did her homework before
playing outside.
Jack used
Habit 3- Put First Things First when he studied his spelling words before he
played outside.
Alyssa used
Habit 4 when she used Think Win-Win when she didn’t argue over who got the
ball. She played rock, paper, scissors to decide.
Maddingly used
Habit 4 when she used Think Win-Win when she played rock, paper, scissors when her
friend and her both got the paper at the same time. When she didn’t win she was
proactive when she didn’t pout.
Elias used
Habit 3-Put First Things First when he made sure to put all of his stuff away
before he started his morning work.
Alex used Habit
6-Synergize- when she worked together and used team work to solve math problems.
Brenn used
Habit 1-Be Proactive when somebody talked to him in line and he ignored him and
stayed in a 5S Line.
Lane used
Habit 1-Be Proactive when he chose not to fight when playing soccer this week even
after somebody slapped the ball out of his hand when he was the goalie.
Macie used
Habit 7-Sharpen the Saw when she did homework, watched t.v. to relax, and got
exercise when she played on the playground in her backyard. Balance is best.
Anden used
Habit 4-Think Win-Win when he played rock, paper, scissors with Lane to see who
got to go in the bathroom first.
Rome used
Habit 4-Think Win-Win when he played rock, paper, scissors with Lane to see who
got to hold the helper sign.
Ava used
Habit 3-Put First Things First when she does all of her school work before she
chooses a book to read.
Eva used
Habit 4-Think Win-Win when her mom didn’t want her to plant a garden of
parsley, tomatoes, and peppers but she told her mom that she would take care of
the whole garden by herself. Her mom got the good vegetables to eat and Eva got
to have her garden.
Daegen used
Habit 1-Be Proactive when he chooses a book and reads it quietly instead of
talking with his friends.
Gordon used Habit 3-Put First Things First when he worked on learning his spelling words before he went to another center.

Word Wall
Look how full our word wall is getting. Each week we add our spelling words to the wall. We are really trying hard to spell these words correcty in our writing every day.
